Spain pays the toll of Germany without problems

MADRID, Jan. 20 (SportsFinding) –

The Spanish men's water polo team qualified on Monday for the quarterfinals of the European Championship that is being played in Budapest after defeating Germany 6-12 comfortably.

Spain did not cost him the toll that supposed to have finished second in his group because of the difference in goals with the hostess and being forced to play a duel of eighths, which he firmly resolved to meet the forecasts and now cite with the almighty Serbia for Be in the fight for medals.

The match began locked and was the only thing that allowed Germany to stay close to those of David Martin. The 1-1 of the first eight minutes was a mirage and as soon as the current runner-up in the world and Europe tuned in attack, the match broke in his favor.

Álvaro Granados, with three of his five goals in the second period, commanded the improvement of Spain, while behind there was the intensity necessary to neutralize the German attack that was almost ten minutes without scoring. Real ended the drought to put a still tight 2-4, but the dynamics were already established and the national team closed the fourth ahead (4-7).

Spain, without giving a sensation of accelerating in excess, did not relax and it did not take in final sentence of the party in the third period where it did not fit any so much to escape definitively (4-10) for the final eight minutes.

On Wednesday, David Martin's will have a much more demanding game against Serbia, which fell in the quarterfinals of the last World Cup 12-9, in what was a Spanish rematch after losing the final of the Barcelona European on penalties 12-10 .
