Spain meets Germany and waits for the Netherlands
BARCELONA, Jan. 17 (SportsFinding) –
The Spanish women's water polo team has won Germany (4-19) on Friday in the fourth and penultimate match of Group B of the European Championship, in a duel in which it has fulfilled what is necessary and is already waiting for the Netherlands to the 'final' for the leadership.
Except surprise, the orange team should overcome France with comfort and will also add, like Spain, four out of four in terms of triumphs to retain its leadership, thanks to its best 'average'. Thus, if the forecasts are met, whoever wins the direct pulse on the last day will be a leader.
Spain could have disturbed the Netherlands to have achieved a greater beating against Germany, as it had done in the past, but a weak start (first set of 2-4) finally made those of Miki Oca, in a good game despite it , will win 'only' by 15 goals difference.
An insufficient income given that the Netherlands now needs to win two goals against France – Spain won the finals 6-15 – to continue leading and, in case of a draw against the Spanish, also ensure the leadership.
Against Germany, those of Miki Oca went from less to more and highlighted again the good work in the buoy of the young Catalan player of the CN Sant Andreu Paula Crespí, with four goals, seconded by the three goals of Bea Ortiz, which follows from Sweet in this European.
Spain won by +16 points, but Fabienne Heerdt's final goal in numerical superiority shortened the victory. Again, as before Israel, the Maica García Godoy buoy did not play a second, which was the only one not to jump into the water and will reach the top for the hard duel against the selection of the Netherlands, the current European champion.
