Spain is interested in Cuéllar, Bolivian crack of the SPAL

Jaume Cuéllar made history last Wednesday by being the first Bolivian to play in Serie A. He did it when he was only 18 years old, at SPAL, a club he came from from Barcelona (he trained at La Masia) in the summer of 2017. This news caused great joy in his country, which sees him as one of the jewels for the future of his team.

However, that joy is mixed with fear. The reason is that he was born in Granollers (on 08/23/2001) and therefore has a double passport. You can choose to play with Bolivia or with Spain. For now, he has answered the calls he has received from the Bolivian team, but You haven't decided who to play with yet. He is very fond of Bolivia because his parents are from there, but he has the same appreciation for Spain after being born, growing up and training as a footballer in Catalonia.

His good performance this season (in addition to his debut with the first team he has also scored eight goals with Primavera) It has sparked the interest of those responsible for the lower categories of the Spanish Federation. He is under 19 years old and it will be precisely the first major commitment that Spain has in lower categories, because the Elite Round and the European Under-19 Championship were postponed due to the coronavirus and will be played on the FIFA dates in the coming months.

In the U19 category there are not many footballers who have already debuted in Primera, so it would add a plus to La Rojita led by Santi Denia. It is an extreme or second striker, skilled, with a goal and good handling of both legs. If he finally opted for Spain and they called him, he would join a promising generation (Éric García, Bryan Gil, Mollejo …) who will fight this year to get a ticket for the U-20 World Cup to be played in 2021.
