Spain fights without a prize its debut in the European women’s volleyball

MADRID, 17 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish women’s volleyball team debuted with a defeat (3-0) against the Netherlands this Thursday at the European Championship in Tallinn (Estonia), a premiere fought without the prize of victory.

The ‘Leonas’ competed in each set (25-23, 25-19, 25-21) but could not start the European journey with a good result. The success of the Dutch counteracted the Spanish work, which will have to return to the charge on Friday at 7:00 p.m. against France.

At the Unibet Arena in Tallinn, headquarters of group D, Spain extended its losing streak against the Netherlands in the European Championships (5-0), beginning with an unfavorable 8-1 run that weighed down the first set. Pascual Saurín’s men took advantage of his good reaction to keep up the pulse in the second set, with good shots from Zoi Mavrommatis.

The ‘Oranje’ recovered in the blockade and put the direct up to 25-19. Saurín looked for a reaction on his bench with the entry of Carolina Camino, who provided pressure from kick-off, along with Julia de Paula’s attacking punch, but Spain was trailed once again without being able to avoid the debut with defeat.
