Spain faces the adapted cycling World Cup as a great favorite

MADRID, 10 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish team faces the adapted cycling World Cup starting this Thursday, which runs until Sunday in the city of Baie-Comeau (Canada) after its recent performances that make it a great favorite for the event.

The national team led by Félix García Casas arrives with the favorite band after its 11 medals in the last World Cup and dreams of repeating the result achieved a year ago in Cascais where they added 13 metals.

Among the handbikers, Sergio Garrote (MH2) will try to continue adding titles to his record. The Paralympic champion comes as a favorite to dream of the rainbow in Canada and a nice duel with the Italian Mazzone, defender of the world title, is presupposed. In handbike, Luis Miguel García-Marquina (MH3) and Martín Berchesi (MH4) will also participate, who will also make up the Team Relay together with Garrote.

For their part, Gonzalo García Abella (MT1) and Joan Reinoso (MT2) will be in charge of battling it out in the tricycle race. The man from Madrid wants to continue his good run of results, after winning bronze in Quebec and silver in Cascais last year; however, the Italian Farroni, the main favourite, will not make it easy. For his part, Reinoso, world champion in CRI, dreams of wearing the rainbow jersey again.

As for the bikes, Ricardo Ten (MC1) starts as the big favorite after winning the World Cup overall. The world champion against the clock also wants to take the title in Canada, since last year in Cascais he lost it against the German Senska. In ‘bikes’ Maurice Eckhard (MC2), Eduardo Santas (MC3), Óscar Higuera, Juan Alberto Martínez (MC4) and Damián Sánchez (MC5) will also compete.

Regarding the tandems, Christian Venge and Noel Martín will defend their jersey won in Cascais last year, while Héctor Catalá and Eloy Teruel and Joan Sansó and Fran Rus will try to reap good results after their debuts as couples in this past Copa del World, where both pairs managed to climb to the third podium drawer.
