The Spanish U-19 women’s team secured first place in Group A of the World Cup in the category that is being played in Madrid, after beating France 59-72 this Sunday.
After the great victory over Australia in the debut, Spain maintained its strong start in the world tournament on the field of the Los Espartales Sports Complex, in Alcalá de Henares, with another train crash in the ‘group of death’. The hosts will be able to rotate and think about getting in shape for the crosses in their last match of the first phase on Tuesday against Argentina.
At halftime, the Spanish team had made their intentions clear with an income of 21 points. The Canary Islands Elena Buenavida and Carla Brito were key in the victory, in addition to a level defense that soon came on stage (11-24), which they dedicated to the injured Marina Aviñoa.
The second quarter, as against Australia, left the Spanish escape, with triples by Iyana and Deva and with Abies doing a great job on the inside (23-44).
