Spain breaks its wall and makes history

MADRID, 5 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish women’s soccer team has made history this Saturday with its qualification for the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand after beating Switzerland 1-5 with great authority, after a good game that has put it back on track in the first 45 minutes. .

Spain, which had never managed to win a knockout match in a major tournament, has improved significantly after the defeat against Japan last Monday and has dominated the match against the Swiss from start to finish, led by a sensational Aitana Bonmatí.

The Catalan midfielder was in charge of opening the scoring very early and although Switzerland quickly drew level after a mistake by Laia Codina on loan, the national team recovered and sealed it before the break with goals from Alba Redondo, once again Aitana Bonmatí and Laia Codina. The win was closed in the second part by Jenni Hermoso and now the ‘Red’ will face the winner of the Netherlands-South Africa.
