It was great to receive a letter from the Prime Minister and the Queen. The reception we had when we arrived at the hotel has been fantastic, as well as the farewell we have had when leaving St George. We are here to win, after all, that cannot be forgotten and we cannot think of other things.

It's going to be a long day, what are you going to do until the game?

It has to be a normal match, we have prepared it like any other. We will have the same meetings, the players will be able to take a walk or stretch, although it will be more difficult at the hotel. We are prepared for this, during the last years we have overcome many difficulties together.

Whistle the Italian anthem

It is important that we respect the rival. When we play outside and they whistle our anthem that motivates us more, so yes, we can intimidate them by booing them during the match, but we must respect the anthems.

The ‘It’s coming home’ has been interpreted as a show of arrogance in the rest of the world, how do you interpret it?

I didn't listen to it for 15 years because it was so painful for me. You have to understand English humor, which is very particular, and if you understand the song you realize that it is not arrogant at all, it is a way of laughing at ourselves. A few years ago people threw paper airplanes because they weren't supportive of us, and now the atmosphere at Wembley is spectacular.

How are you facing a final

We are calm, really. We have grown a lot

What worries you most about Italy?

They have fantastic players, an experienced coach and an impressive record over the last 30 games. They are very good, but we have already faced some of the best, like Kroos or Modric.

How do you feel about being considered the representative of the team's success?

Well, I have an impressive coaching staff and, let's not forget, some fantastic players. I'm sure the whole country is aware of it.

The medical body has to give us the latest report, but yes, it is doubtful, it is nothing serious but it will surely stay out of the party.

The lack of experience of some conditions you

Well, having experience has its advantages, but also that fresh and refreshing spirit of someone who is here for the first time. For example, Calvin Phillips has adapted wonderfully. Everyone has managed to manage the pressure very well.
