It looks like the Chargers spent a lot of money to land Jim Harbaugh back in the NFL because they were hurt by the idea that they were cheap.

Several sources say that the current Michigan coach will make an average of $16 million a year in his new team.

Reports from before say that Harbaugh’s contract is for five years. That’s a $80 million promise if it’s all guaranteed. Even then, all of the data is made public.

It’s never easy to know for sure how much an educator makes. For some teams, the coach gets paid by the team and also gets money from other businesses that the owner runs.

Multiple sources told Mike Florio for ProFootballTalk that the Chargers are thought to be planning on paying new head coach Jim Harbaugh a mean of $16 million a year.

Florio says Harbaugh’s deal is likely to last five years and pay him $80 million if it’s a done deal. The Bears picked Harbaugh, now 60, in the first round of the 1987 NFL Draft. He played college football at Michigan.

Before he became a coach, he played in the NFL for 14 years, starting with the Raiders. In 2004, he became the head coach at San Diego. In 2007, he did the same thing at Stanford.

In 2007, the 49ers hired Carr as their head coach. In 2014, he was fired and hired as the head instructor at Michigan. In his four years in the 49ers, he led these individuals to a 44-19-1 (69.5%) record, which included three trips to the playoffs and an NFC title.

Harbaugh’s teams at Michigan have a record of 85-25, which is 77.7 percent. They have gone with the College Football Playoff three times and have a 2-6 record in bowl games.

Reports say that Harbaugh signed a deal with the Chargers that pays him more each year than he would have at Michigan while requiring less of a commitment from them.

There was no doubt that James Harbaugh wanted to go back to the NFL, but he could be picky because he had power over Michigan.

He would only go to a franchise when he thought he had a good chance to win right away or very soon, and that franchise would have to pay him.

The 10-year, $125 million offer that Michigan is said to have on the table has been sitting there for months, unsigned. That $80 million promise is less than that offer, but it is worth a lot more each year.

The first year Harbaugh was in charge at San Diego, he went 7–4. The next two years, he went 11–1. By Year 4, he was 12-1 at Stanford. In his first three years as coach, he led the 49ers to winning the NFC Championship every year.

It took Michigan seven years to get over the hump, and they didn’t win the national championship until Year 9. But Harbaugh made them five wins better right away.
