Sorribes goes to the semifinals after the abandonment of Azarenka

The Spanish Sara Sorribes continues her journey at the Bad Homburg Open presented by Engel & Volkers, his last test on grass before competing at Wimbledon.

After defeating the Japanese Misaki Doi in two sets in the round of 16, in a match that had to be interrupted by the rain, Sorribes has gone on Thursday to the semifinals of the tournament without playing, since before their quarterfinal match his rival, the Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, announced his abandonment of the tournament after his agonizing match against Alizé Cornet.

In this way SOrribes is already waiting for a rival in the semifinals and will be measured this Friday for a place in the final against the winner of the match between the German Laura Siegemund and the Czech Katerina Siniakova.
