Sorribes and Bouzas surpass their debuts in Cleveland

MADRID, 20 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spanish tennis players Sara Sorribes and Jessica Bouzas beat China’s Yafan Wang and France’s Varvara Gracheva on Tuesday in the WTA tournament in Cleveland (United States).

The player from Castellón had a somewhat more placid debut, defeating Wang in two sets 6-4, 6-1 in just over an hour and a half of a match in which she reacted after being down 2-4 in the first set and from then on took ten of the next eleven games.

For her part, the Galician tennis player had more work to do to get rid of Gracheva in three sets by 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Bouzas, who qualified for the main draw from the qualifying round, started badly, with a resounding 1-5 down, but from then on she recovered her best level and although she was not able to take the first set, she did win the other two, where her rival lost her serve up to seven times.
