Solari: “I consider Madrid as my home and I wish them the best”

The Argentine coach Santiago Solari described this Friday to Real Madrid as “his home” and ruled out responding to Efe if you share the opinion of Jose Maria Gutierrez ‘Guti’, who said that the meringues did not value him as a strategist.

“After managing Madrid’s first team I had the fantastic opportunity to be the club’s ambassador, until I signed with America. It has been a wonderful experience in different roles and I have enjoyed each of them. I consider it as my home and I always wish him the best, “he explained at a press conference.

At an event organized in September by LaLiga’s Mexican office, Guti commented that Real Madrid “did not value much” as a coach to Solari, current manager of the Mexican America, and who led the main team of the meringues between 2018 and 2019, time in which he won a Club World Cup.

“In Madrid I have spent half my life, I have had the opportunity to play many years there and then there I was trained as a coach and trained lower division players from the age of 13 to Castilla and then I went through the first team”recalled the 45-year-old mentor.

Solari has kept America in the first place of the Apertura 2021 tournament standings the last nine days, with which he is one of the candidates to win one of the four direct places to the quarterfinals.

On the thirteenth day, the Eagles of the Argentine will visit this Saturday saint Louis, Mexican branch of Atlético de Madrid, which marches in seventh place in the Apertura table.

“San Luis is doing a good tournament, he has shown it from home and away. It will be a tough opponent and we will have to be with the lights on. You have to be attentive from the first minute, “added who won a European Champions League as a player of the Real Madrid.

The South American recognized that his team is going through a complicated stage of the calendar since it suffered the losses of national teams such as the Paraguayan Richard Sanchez and the peruvian Pedro Aquino, who for playing the South American World Cup qualifiers on Thursday are doubtful for the duel against the saint Louis.

“My players do well and we aim to sustain that good work, which is difficult because there are rivals and the calendar, there are times when it gives you a truce only with games on weekends and then today more difficult moments with games during the week and tougher still because matches are gathered during the week, weekend and World Cup qualifiers “, he concluded.
