Social revolt in Valencia

Peter Lim has more and more detractors and open fronts in Valencia. The last chapter of social tension has the Agrupació de Penyes as the protagonist (357 peñas registered), while a milestone occupies and worries the Generalitat and City Council: the non-compliance of the stadium construction deadlines, a topic that is no longer taboo for politicians now that many fans are demanding Lim facts.

The work, paralyzed since 2009, should be finished in 2023 according to the ATE. But Meriton remains without financing (his plan, like that of his predecessors, goes through the sale of Mestalla). Yesterday Anil Murthy asked Ximo Puig for an extension of the ATE, a moratorium that Joan Ribó quarantines. “It has to be built yes or yes,” emphasized the mayor, who receives Anil today.

The echoes of the goodbye of Mateu Alemany and Marcelino still resonate through Mestalla and the decomposition of the team that was champion (Parejo, Coquelin, Garay, Rodrigo and / or Ferran) has given rise to social mobilizations this summer. In between, the former director, Antonio Sesé, represented by Miguel Durán, has filed a complaint against Lim for property damage to the club. Magistrate Isabel Rodríguez Guerola, judge in the Levante-Zaragoza case, will decide if she sees evidence of a crime and admits it for processing.

The Agrupació de Penyes after meeting in Assembly (231 clubs) demanded the dismissal of Anil Murthy. The president will be accompanied for life by his gesture of shushing the stands. The uprooting is fed from the club with statements and messages in the official media. Outbursts of power squander harmony. Thus, days after the release of the supporters' clubs, the club informed the Agrupació that it must leave the headquarters that, for 25 years, had been ceded in the Mestalla basement within 15 days.

Meriton clings to the story that the arrival of Lim prevented the ruin of Valencia in 2014 (he invested 194 million and refinanced the debt) and therefore does not understand or accept many criticisms of his management. The debt today is 530 million and its economic model is summarized in the sale of players, television income and Champions (if you play it). That is, the same model that was without Lim. The economic solution would go through the exploitation of a new stadium, but Lim, today, only requests extensions from the ATE.
