Soccer Italy suffered a tremendous blow this Thursday: for the second time in a row, the ‘azzurra’ team will not participate in the World Cup. If Italy was already left out of the Russia 2018 edition after losing to Sweden in the play-offs, this time it was North Macedonia that deprived it of going to Qatar 2022 by defeating it 0-2 at the Renzo Barbera in Palermo. Italy coach Roberto Mancini said: “My future? We’ll see. It’s the biggest disappointment of my career.”

Mancini continued: “Tonight something incredible happened, there are no words to describe it. Some games are like that. Starting with the European Championship, the luck that had accompanied us turned into bad luck at all times.”
The Italy coach stated that “the European Championship we won was the greatest joy of my professional career, just as this elimination will be my greatest disappointment.”
