Simple and natural, the immense Meryl Streep arrives in Oviedo: zero makeup and a casual look

Leonor’s next appointment in Oviedo: the Princess of Asturias and Meryl Streep Awards. The admired and beloved North American actress, 74 years old, landed in Asturias this Tuesday the 17th. The eldest daughter of the Kings will present her with the award in the Arts category in the solemn ceremony that will take place on Friday the 20th. Leonor will share the spotlight with the movie superstar.

Meryl Streep’s stellar visit to Asturias monopolizes all the media tension. With three Oscars (Kramer v. Kramer, Sophie’s Choice y The woman of iron) and titles like Out of Africa, The Bridges of Madison o Oh mama!, the actress is also a gender equality activist. Streep landed in Oviedo this morning from Los Angeles. She is accompanied by her brother. With a black cardigan, a shirt with mini flowers and zero makeup, the interpreter greeted the residents of Oviedo at the doors of the Reconquista Hotel. In her left hand she carried her cell phone. A gust of wind has ruffled her hair. She couldn’t be more natural.

Leonor, about to come of age for the first time

This is a very special edition for the heiress: it will be the last one she attends before reaching the age of majority. Next year she will be the one who presides over the event. At the Campoamor Theater in the capital of the Principality, Leonor will shine alongside her parents, Felipe VI and Doña Letizia, her sister, Sofía; and her two grandmothers, Doña Sofía and Paloma Rocasolano, who do not miss the ceremony even a year.

The great host of the award winner will be Antonio Banderas. Both, friends and colleagues, will star in a head-to-head meeting in which they will debate about cinema. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 18, at 7:30 p.m., at the Oviedo Exhibition and Congress Palace.

The winner will also hold a meeting with a representation of the teachers and students of 3rd and 4th ESO, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training, who have participated in the activity Meryl’s decisions, inside the poster Takes the floor. This second appointment is scheduled in the Warehouse of the La Vega Weapons Factory, in Oviedo.
