BARCELONA, 13 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The coach of Inter Milan, Simone Inzaghi, has highlighted that Barça’s problem in the 3-3 draw this Wednesday, on matchday four of the Champions League, is due to the fact that they have found an Italian team “at their height”, so now they depend on themselves to get the ticket to the round of 16.
“Barça is a great team with a great coach. The problem is that they have found an Inter at their level. We have played very well technically. We have grown and created many opportunities,” explained the Italian at a press conference.
A tie that allows them to get closer to their goal in the maximum continental competition. “With the victory we would have been able to close the group in advance. Even so, I congratulate the team, we have played two very aggressive games”, he said about the duels against the azulgranas, where the Italian team put the ‘culé’ team on the ropes both in San Siro as in the Spotify Camp Nou.
“The last step is missing, we have to give this satisfaction to our fans. The previous days I thought about giving up one of the two forwards because they have played three games in a row. But it would have been an unequivocal signal for the team,” acknowledged Inzaghi.
For this, he was full of praise with Edin Dzeko, who caused big problems for Eric García and Gerard Piqué. “He played a very good game, better than the one we played at the San Siro. We managed to contain ourselves compactly and aggressively”, added the Inter coach, who ended up being sent off in the 90th minute due to the frenetic ending in which Lewandowski put in tables the duel.
“I don’t want revenge with anyone, I know my career and the work I’ve done. In Spain they know how to appreciate it. Barça have only lost against Bayern and in LaLiga they have only given up a draw. Now they are going to remember Inter”, he concluded .
