Simeone's wife confirms that the technician is fine

Atlético issued a statement last night in which it announced that its coach, Diego Simeone, had tested positive for coronavirus in the tests carried out on the staff and the coaching staff after the contagion of a member of the expedition last Friday. After knowing the news, the usual protocol was implemented in these cases and the Cholo had to isolate himself at home until he managed to overcome the disease and test negative in the PCR test. A priori, it will have to be ten days at home before testing is done.

The news spread like wildfire and caused a logical concern among the fans of the rojiblanco club, who did not know what the health status of their technician was like after confirming the positive despite the fact that from the first moment it was known that the Argentine was asymptomatic. To calm that restlessness, Simeone's wife, Carla Pereyra, has shared some stories on her social networks to report how both the Cholo and the rest of the family are, which have also had to undergo the tests as they were close contacts of an infected person. This has been the message that Simeone's wife: “Hello, I wanted to send this message because many are worrying. Diego is fine, he tested positive. Everyone else in the house has tested negative and we are all asymptomatic. Hoping to pass this in the best way with the corresponding medical control. Thank you all very much for supporting us.”.

Therefore, it is to be expected that Simeone passes this trance without problems and will soon be with his players and coaching staff preparing for the season. However, the Cholo contagion has had collateral damage and that is his second, Nelson Vivas, has also been forced to confine himself to his home as he was in close contact with his compatriot the day before the positive. This forces the next training sessions, until both are recovered, have to be directed by Profe Ortega, as it has done in the one that took place this morning in the Cerro del Espino de Majadahonda.
