Diego Pablo Simeone has spearheaded a food collection campaign in collaboration with the Red Cross and the Foundation of the
Atlético de Madrid
, a campaign that has been a success, one more season. And that this time it has not been possible to do like other years, in which the matches of the Athletic in the Metropolitan they were a meeting point for collecting food.
The campaign ‘Against hunger we give everything’ has successfully closed its seventh edition. The solidarity initiative has broken records by collecting 36 tons of non-perishable food, six more than in its last edition, which will be distributed in the coming days among more than 3,600 needy families.
The campaign was launched in 2015 (10 tons collected) and, since then, each edition has been surpassed, gathering 16, 18, 20 and 30 tons, respectively, in the following years.
This year, the action has had the participation of the Union of Peñas of Atlético de Madrid, which has provided 161 collection points in four autonomous communities: Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León and Extremadura.
Carla Pereyra, campaign spokesperson and woman from Diego Pablo Simeone; Natalia Simeone, sister and representative; Y Adelardo Rodriguez, President of the Atlético de Madrid Foundation, wanted to personally thank the athletic clubs for their involvement by visiting two of the collection points that have actively participated in this new edition of ContraElHambreLoDamosTodo.
