The Atlético de Madrid coach, Diego Pablo Simeone, celebrated the three points this Sunday against RC Celta, with a goal from Memphis at the last minute, to continue adding to the “objective” of playing in the Champions League next year, with a good reaction to a game of inaccuracies.
“The game was quite imprecise on our part, despite a good opportunity from Llorente and another that we recovered up front. In the second half we changed the format a bit to free Griezmann, we had the chance of Morata and, at our best moment, The expulsion is coming, against Celta, Oblak saved us,” he said at a press conference in Balaídos.
The Argentine coach valued the entry from the bench of Carrasco and Memphis and recalled that he needs everyone to meet the objective. “We knew how to sustain Celta’s attack well and in the play by Carrasco and Memphis they were able to resolve a game that was tough, complicated like all of them here in Vigo,” he stated.
“We need everyone. The weeks are long. It’s a pity that we weren’t as precise as we would have liked, the team could have played a better game. Everyone’s task is to lead the club to continue being in the Champions League next season, for that we need an effort on everyone’s part,” he said.
“Continue adding important situations that have been happening after the World Cup. The team reacted, what we talked about in the locker room, in life there are always problems to solve, the team was able to resolve a complex situation,” he concluded.
