The coach of Atlético de Madrid, the Argentine Diego Pablo Simeone, became the foreign coach with the most wins in the history of LaLiga on Saturday, after achieving number 235 in the LaLiga Santander match against Getafe at the Wanda Metropolitano ( 4-3).
In this way, the ‘Cholo’ surpasses the record of the Slovak coach Ferdinand Daucik, who curiously also occupied the bench of Atlético de Madrid between 1957 and 1960, time in which he achieved 32 of his 234 victories in Spanish football.
Simeone, one of the protagonists of the historic ‘Double’ in 1996, arrived at Atlético on December 23, 2011 to take on the position of coach. His first win as mattress coach was on January 15, 2012 against Villarreal at the Vicente Calderón (3-0).
