Silva's impossible return

On May 4, 2010, David Silva stepped onto Mestalla for the last time. After training in Paterna from the age of 14 and leaving on loan to Eibar and Celta, the Canarian had four seasons at the highest level at Valencia. Silva played 168 games for Valencia, scoring 32 goals and giving 37 goal assists.. He won a Copa del Rey in 2008. At the end of that 2010-11 season, Silva was sold to Manchester City for 33 million. a few days before being proclaimed World Champion with Spain in South Africa, the same summer that David Villa or Carlos Marchena left the club.

He was an idol for the che fans that already as World Champion he said goodbye to his people by letter. “Farewell is difficult for me. I'm leaving my house. I want and always will love this team, its people and this city“, he commented in his farewell letter. And he never stepped on the Mestalla again despite the fact that his family remained linked to the capital of Turia.
