Sevilla strengthens its brand in India with LaLiga Impulso

The sevillistas promote new football projects in the Indian country

MADRID, 13 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Sevilla FC has visited India, where it has worked on its internationalization through a series of projects in which, in collaboration with FC Bengaluru United, it will promote, through its experience, areas such as youth academies, women’s football or R&D, all within the framework of LaLiga Impulso.

The Sevilla delegation in India was headed by the entity’s president, José Castro, who was accompanied by the general manager, José María Cruz, and the general business manager, Jorge Paradela. The intention is to use the possibilities offered by LaLiga Impulso to strengthen Sevilla’s brand image abroad.

The president of Seville, José Castro, was very satisfied with the trip. “Our visit to India has been very fruitful and we are grateful to all the companies and people we met here who helped us understand the opportunities and avenues we can explore in this beautiful country,” he said during Extra Time, an event organized by LaLiga India in which the honorary consul of Spain in Bangalore, Surbhi Sharma, and the owner of Bengaluru United, Gaurav Manchada, were present.

“We were always aware of the potential that India presents seeing the work of LaLiga here and this visit has given us even more confidence in the focus of our internationalization strategy. The only thing that was clear to us throughout these five days was the passion that the Indians have for football and we are more committed than ever to consolidating and growing the Sevilla FC brand here”, assured Casstro.

Sevilla has been in different activities together with businessmen and managers from the area. The Seville team has participated in the launch of the Bengaluru United women’s team, taking advantage of their experience and knowledge in the area, and in football matters, they collaborated in the ‘Sevilla FC Junior Cup’, a development tournament held in the fields of Hal.

Beyond football, the Sevilla delegation visited one of the most important technology companies in India (‘Infosys’) and launched the ‘Soccer Hackaton – Data-Based Player Performance Assessment’ in Bengaluru, a project in which which participates alongside FC Bengaluru United. On their last day, they participated in an event organized by LaLiga India, Extra Time.

This process of internationalization of Sevilla is part of the actions promoted by LaLiga Impulso, the agreement between the organization, the clubs and CVC that aims to accelerate the modernization of Spanish football through an investment of 1,900 million euros. The Seville team has chosen to establish collaborations in India that allow the club to grow while helping to promote football in that country through its knowledge.

The general director of LaLiga India, José Antonio Cachaza, also valued the Andalusians’ visit to the country. “It gives us immense pleasure to see that Spanish brands, especially those with such a strong history and experience like Sevilla FC, recognize the potential of the Indian football ecosystem,” he said.

Cachaza believes that one of the “main areas of interest” since LaLiga was established in India “has been to show the perspective that the country offers” to the members of the organization and “build a bridge”. “LaLiga clubs like Sevilla FC now have the opportunity like never before, with the LaLiga Impulso project, to expand their presence worldwide and we look forward to supporting them in their strategy,” he declared.
