The Argentinian Erik Lamela, current player of Sevilla, has been awarded the Puskas Award for the best goal of 2021 at the gala The Best FIFA which is held at its headquarters in Zurich (Switzerland).
Lamela scored a goal with a pretty low ‘rabona’ as a player of the Tottenham in the match against Arsenal in the Premier League, played on March 14 last year. The Argentine, who signed for Sevilla in July, succeeds his former teammate at the London club, the South Korean Heung-min Son.
The Apple He admitted that at the time of the technical gesture “nothing went through his head”. “I didn’t think anything of it until after executing it I saw it go in,” admitted the Argentine, who is currently out due to injury.
