The Sevilla FC has wanted to take a giant step in its involvement to promote women’s football and has announced that it will sponsor the Indian team of the Bengaluru feminine, a team that fights against social prejudices that exclude women from football and sports. The club itself announced the solidarity initiative on social networks.
The Sevilla delegation traveled to the Indian city of Bangalore, with the president Jose Castro at the head, for the promotion of the club in the Asian subcontinent and to close economic and technological agreements with the Bengaluru United. In this sense, a social agreement has also been sealed with the sponsorship by the Bengaluru women’s club.
It is a very important gesture in a country where a large part of the female population does not have access to sport, much less to football: “It is even frowned upon for women to play football”, highlights the Sevillian Javier Farran, president of the Peña Sevillista de la India, in statements to ‘Diario de Sevilla’.
