Sevilla continues its crisis and Rayo is enough with Isi

Aimar Oroz has tres puntos for Osasuna

MADRID, 14 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Sevilla suffered a tough defeat (2-1) this Saturday in their visit to Girona on matchday 17 of LaLiga Santander, a blow that brings them back to a harsh reality, bordering on the relegation zone, while Rayo Vallecano won (0- 1) in Valladolid and Osasuna became strong in El Sadar with three points against Mallorca (1-0).

The season continues to look very bad for the Andalusian squad, with no appreciable reaction since Jorge Sampaoli arrived in October to replace Julen Lopetegui. With the Argentine, Sevilla have won two league games and, after making their debut at Pizjuán last week, they returned to their old ways in Montilivi, with the risk of falling into the relegation zone. The Catalans move away with note.

The visiting team took the lead through Nianzou after a quarter of an hour, when Sampaoli’s men had already shown their shortcomings behind. Football was unfair to those of Míchel, but Girona had much clearer ideas. The prize came to him in the first minute of the restart, Stuani’s 1-0, and, with the match even, Sevilla returned to give away behind in Yangel Herrera’s 2-1.

Meanwhile, Rayo Vallecano pulled on an Isi Palazón in a state of grace who, after missing a penalty after half an hour, in a VAR hand, was able to redeem himself with a left-footed shot on goal at 65′. Just before Weissman had had the option of a local goal for a Valladolid that did little in the first half and Masip was the best.

José Zorrilla took a jug of cold water with the 0-1 and the team also suffered on the pitch. Pacheta’s team completely deflated in their fourth straight loss, with the option of also falling into the red zone after the day, while Iraola’s team won again after the World Cup to look up.

OSASUNA OWED ONE TO EL SADAR

In addition, also looking towards the European zone, Osasuna won against Mallorca on his return to El Sadar two months later. Then, Jagoba Arrasate’s men missed a tasty victory against Barça, but the ‘rojillo’ fiefdom vibrated again. The Balearic team did not enter well and, although it was improving, the local team was the one who had the chances with Chimy Ávila and Budimir.

Aimar Oroz and Moi Gómez gave a lot of play to an Osasuna that delivered everywhere on the pitch. Aimar, an increasingly popular idol for Sadar, made it 1-0 shortly after the restart, in a quality move by those from Arrasate. Mallorca reacted with a post from Baba but the locals had the sentence and a feeling of superiority that went beyond the three points.
