Serie A has released the kit regulations for the 2021/22 season. In article 2, which talks about the colors that teams can wear, A new rule arises in the first paragraph: from the 2022/23 academic year, the green tone will be prohibited on the outfield players' jerseys.
There are several reasons, one of which is television in nature: They try to avoid that the color of the uniforms is too similar to that of the field, confusing the spectator that is behind the screen. At the same time, fans in the stadium and the match officials will enjoy a greater contrast between the jerseys and the pitch.
The rule has been included this season in order to allow clubs to move accordingly: the kits for the next campaign begin to be designed during the current one and the teams need to be notified in advance.
In addition, the regulation has specified that if more than three colors are used, one must be clearly dominant on the surface of the jersey, shorts and socks, and the other shades will have to be identified as secondary without question.
