Sergio Ramos: “It was a debt to my father, grandfather, Sevilla and Puerta”

The central defender is already in the Andalusian capital to undergo a medical examination before signing for Sevilla FC

MADRID, 4 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish player Sergio Ramos assured upon his arrival in Seville, before passing the medical examination and signing for Sevilla FC as a free agent, that returning to the Seville discipline 18 years later was a “debt” with his family and with Sevillism.

“I’m looking forward to going home, it didn’t make sense to go anywhere else without going through here. It was a debt with my father, with my grandfather, with Sevilla and with Puerta, with many things that have meant a lot and I think it was the moment,” he told the media.

Ramos, without a team since his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ended at the end of June, arrived at the Seville airport at noon and made some initial statements in which he confirmed his signing for José Luis Mendilibar’s team.

“I’m excited, it’s a special day. Going home always is,” said the central defender from Camas, who will have to undergo a medical check-up in Seville after finally not being able to do so in Madrid, from where he arrived in the Andalusian capital.

“Now we have to do the tests. I’ve been waiting for this for a few ‘months’, but I’m happy to come back and join as soon as possible. We will have time to do the press conference and the presentation,” he assured the media, which he attended briefly in airport facilities.
