The Spanish central defender of French Paris Saint-Germain, Sergio Ramos, is clear that he still has physical and good mental capacity to play “four or five more years at the high level” before facing “another football experience”.
“I would like to play for four or five more years at the highest level and then live another experience. I have two years here in Paris, I will try to make it three and then we will see. But as long as my physique holds up, I think my head is very good focused”, confessed Sergio Ramos in a space of ‘Prime Video France’ directed by former French player Ludovic Giuly.
The centre-back also assured that he prefers “playing for the best team in the world” than being the best in the world. “Football is a collective sport and it’s about winning everyone, before being individually the best. To play World Cups, Champions, you always need the work of your team”, he stressed.
Finally, the former FC Barcelona player asked the Andalusian if he prefers to play with his club or with his national team. “It’s a difficult question to answer. The feeling of homeland, of country, is always something very big, and your team is to which you owe yourself and where you must play well to go to the national team,” he said.
“It’s a similar feeling, but at the same time different and I couldn’t keep one because the two are a unique feeling, and with the national team you aspire to wonderful things like being world champion,” added Ramos.
