MADRID, 26 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish basketball player Sergio Llull, Real Madrid’s point guard, said this Thursday, after becoming the player with the most games played in the history of the Euroleague against ALBA Berlin, that this record “is a consequence of being in the best club in the world so many years.”
“It is an important victory away from home to continue adding in the Euroleague and to try to go up. I think the team played a very solid game,” Llull declared to the Realmadrid TV microphones, after the Merengue victory by 69- 80 in their visit to ALBA during matchday 18 of the regular league in the 2024/25 Euroleague.
“The record is a consequence of being in the best club in the world for so many years. In the end, you play many games and it is an honor to match Hines, a player who is a legend of the Euroleague; and we are going for more,” said the Mahón’s point guard, whose triples propelled the white team to victory at the Uber Arena in the German capital.
“It is a special record because being up there in games played means that you have been at the highest level in the Euroleague for many years. I don’t usually hold anything back. Today they came in, I was successful and I was able to help the team in that aspect, but I always try to play 100% to help in whatever it takes,” added Llull from the pavilion’s locker room.
The eternal number 23 was grateful to the Madrid entity. “I will never be able to give as much to the club as he has given me. In the end, Real Madrid is what is above each player individually and for me it was a dream to sign here. It is a dream that I continue to live many times and, That’s why I always try to do my best to achieve victories and make the fans proud,” he said.
Finally, he advocated “having a little patience” despite having “given away a lot of games” in the last quarters. “We have lost games by one point, several of them quite cruel, and having won them we would be talking about being in the playoffs or even among the top four in such a close Euroleague. But hey, I think the team is doing well and it is important to continue along these lines,” he concluded.
