Sergio Herrera, until 2023

Osasuna continues with the policy of tying up the most important players in its squad and a few minutes ago the rojillo club has announced the renewal of goal Sergio Herrera, who will extend his contract, which ended in 2021, until 2023. The goalkeeper of Miranda de Ebro will have a termination clause of 11,500,000 euros while the team militates in LaLiga Santander.

Sergio Herrera arrived in Osasuna in the summer of 2017 from Huesca, where a season before he had become the revelation goalkeeper in the silver category of Spanish football. Previously, he had been trained in the quarry of the Deportivo Alavés to later be hardened in Second B in teams like Laudio Sports Club and the Amorebieta Sports Society.

In his first season as a rojillo he took over the starting position and completed a great campaign, which had a negative note an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the final stretch of the course. After seven months of work, the Mirandés goalkeeper managed to fully recover and once again defended the red goal, playing four games in the 2018/19 campaign, in which Osasuna achieved promotion to First. Already in the highest category, the goalkeeper played 19 games, alternating the position with Rubén Martínez. In this new season, Herrera has been in charge of defending the red goal in the five games that Osasuna has played to date, leaving his goal unbeaten in three of them.
