The coach of Cádiz, Sergio González, congratulated his players for a “match with capital letters” and for “rebeling” showing the level they have in the victory (3-2) over Atlético de Madrid on matchday 12 of LaLiga Santander.
“It has been a game with capital letters. The players have vindicated themselves, they have rebelled, they have made the Vallecas game a stain, against a rival of tremendous quality,” he said this Saturday after the triumph at the Nuevo Mirandilla.
The Andalusian coach recognized that they will have to look at it, but he highlighted a round afternoon at home. “The how is the least of it, the form gives us a rush. It makes you take off. The team deserved something like that. The game was brutal. It’s true that from 2-0 to 2-2 I don’t even want to think about it, during the week we will correct it,” he said.
“The public has been incredible. With this spirit we can go anywhere. The team has had a rush to try to get the third, we have been brave and the reward has come, today’s game and the last ones at home,” he added.
Sergio also pointed out the need that Cádiz had to forget the 5-1 against Rayo. “Changing the dynamics was one of the objectives, that we return to the good path. I hope that people have been calm with the Cádiz that they have seen today. The last trajectory of the team gave the feeling that we were closer to this level than to the one we gave in Vallecas”, he affirmed.
“Our victories are global. The line between those who play and those who don’t is very fine. I’m left with the moment of the goal, how we celebrated it. If they manage to annul it by hand, it gives us a jamacuco,” he added about Rubén Sobrino’s goal in 99′.
