Real Valladolid coach Sergio González has given “good” the point obtained against Getafe, after a “bad first half” in which his team “lost its identity, was self-conscious and absent-minded” but managed to end it with tie on the scoreboard.
As he explained in a telematic press conference, “the best thing that happened to us was to go to the break with the draw, because Getafe was much better in all aspects, one-on-one, in intensity, in rhythm, in offensive capacity and that goal was a spur. “
During the break, he acknowledged that he told his players to “raise their heads, that we all look at each other's faces and say what was necessary and, after commenting on various things, they came out more frequently, with more desire and without so much pressure” , which allowed them to “equalize the game”, and could even “go anywhere”.
Regarding the penalty, he indicated that “no” he had been able to see the repetition but that, according to what he had been told, “it was clear” but he made it clear that “he respects Bordalás a lot” both in his opinion on the maximum penalty and on the exaggerated screaming of the players, who were able to condition the referee.
But in this sense, he pointed out that “the referee is a professional and has the strength not to allow himself to be influenced by these things, so I do not think that the screaming was decisive for him to take the decision to call the maximum penalty.”
“On the field there is one game and on the bench another, and you have to try to win both, because everyone plays their game, insiders and outsiders, but I don't think that their attitude causes a referee to make decisions”, has added.
