The Spanish full-back Sergio Akieme, until now a UD Almería player, has been transferred this Thursday to the Stade de Reims of the French Ligue 1 after the agreement reached by both clubs and the footballer, closing a stage in the Indálico team that started in the summer 2020, according to a statement.
In this way, the player, whose contract ended in 2025, ends “a brilliant and long career as a red and white player”, to now end up at the French Stade de Reims. Akieme arrived at the Almería entity in the 2020-2021 season on loan from FC Barcelona, to sign as property the following year.
Three and a half seasons defending the Almería shirt, in which he played a total of 120 games, in addition to scoring 6 goals and providing another 6 assists.
“UD Almería wishes him all the luck in his new football career while at the same time wanting to publicly highlight the professionalism, dedication and commitment that he has had at all times in the club,” the statement concluded.
