Sergi Darder signs for RCD Mallorca until 2028

The midfielder leaves Espanyol to continue in LaLiga EA Sports

BARCELONA, 11 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Midfielder Sergi Darder leaves RCD Espanyol and will play for RCD Mallorca for the next five seasons after both clubs reach a transfer agreement, bringing Artà’s closer home and will continue playing in LaLiga EA Sports and not in LaLiga Hypermotion with a ‘parakeet’ team of which he became captain.

“RCD Mallorca and RCD Espanyol have reached an agreement for the transfer of Sergi Darder. The 29-year-old Mallorcan has committed to the vermilion club until June 30, 2028. In this way, the midfielder becomes the sixth signing of the 2023/24 season”, announced the Balearic club.

Darder has defended the RCD Espanyol shirt in the last six seasons, playing a total of 245 official matches. In the 2022/23 season he played 38 games scoring a total of six goals.

Formed in the lower categories of the blue and white club, he went to Málaga and from there to Olympique de Lyon, before returning to RCD Espanyol and being key from then until now, who opted to leave the ‘perico’ club to join RCD Mallorca .

“I am very happy. A long time ago I really wanted to return. When the possibility of returning home with my people arose, in a place where I dreamed of playing since I was a child,” said Darder in his first statements as ‘vermillion’.
