Serbian striker Scepovic, Malaga's new player

Serbian striker Stefan Scepovic is a new Málaga player for the remainder of the season, replacing the Argentine forward Pablo Chavarría, seriously injured, announced this Friday the Malaga club.

The Serbian attacker arrived a few days ago in Malaga and had even passed the medical examination and coronavirus tests, but his signing was at the expense of receiving the approval of LaLiga, who gave his authorization this Friday.

Scepovic, 31, played until February 1 at Machida Zelvia of the Japanese Second Division and has a past in Spanish LaLiga, after playing for Sporting in the 2013-14 season, in which he signed his best records with 23 goals in 41 games .

He went through Celtic Glasgow and also for Getafe in the 2015-16 campaign, with which the one who was promoted to First Division a season later, before returning to Sporting in 2017-18.

In your last years as a professional, Scepovic has played in Hungary and Poland, in addition to having been international for Serbia eight times between 2012 and 2014, with one goal scored.

The sports director of Málaga, Manolo Gaspar, has stated that they had to cover the eighteenth professional file of the squad, after Chavarría's long-term leave, because they could not “let Sergio Pellicer “, the coach, without that cash in the “final leg” of the season.

Otherwise, according to Gaspar, if the squad were, for example, affected by cases of COVID-19, they would have to “separate several players” and the team could “stay in the box”.
