Serbian center Dusan Ristic has reached an agreement this Saturday to renew with Basketball Fuenlabrada for one season, so he will continue playing for the Madrid club next season, according to a statement.
“One of the key players from last year will continue to wear the Fuenlabrada shirt. It is the Serbian pivot Dusan Ristic, who has just signed the renewal contract for the 2022/2023 season with Fuenlabrada,” the club announced.
Ristic averaged 10 points, 4.7 rebounds and a PIR of 10.1 in 17 minutes of play per game. From his 2.13 meter height, he shot 37 percent on 3-pointers and 85 percent on free throws.
The 26-year-old pivot was trained in the FMP Zeleznik and Estrella Roja academy and then made the leap to American basketball with the University of Arizona. In the NCAA he spent four seasons averaging 12.2 points and 7 rebounds in his last year.
Back in Europe, he had an outstanding year in the powerful VTB League defending the Astana shirt in the 2019-2020 season. In fact, he was the top rebounder in the competition with almost 11 rebounds per game that he accompanied with 15.7 points.
The 2020-2021 season was played with the Italian Brescia. For the last stretch of the competition he signed for the Russian Avtodor Saratov with whom he reached averages of 13 points and 7 rebounds in the VTB League.
International with the senior team of Serbia, Ristic “will live his second campaign in Fuenlabrada called to have a great role in the game of the team”.
