The Argentinian Diego Schwartzman fell this Wednesday in his debut at the Masters 1,000 in Madrid, in the second round, against Russian Aslan Karatsev 2-6, 6-4 and 6-1.
Seventh-seeded Schwartzman broke his opponent's serve in the opening game of the match. He confirmed 2-0 and maintained that advantage until the end of the set, in which he did not yield a single break point.
The game changed in the second set, with Karatsev more dangerous with his serve. He prevented the Argentine from entering the game and entered a streak of maximum effectiveness that gave him the second set and put him 5-0 ahead in the third.
Schwartzman only played one more game, unable to cope with the Russian's rackets, in a completely different role than in the first set.
Karatsev was responsible for the Buenos Aires man getting off the last Australian Open in the round of 32.
