Schwartzman goes to eSports

The Argentine tennis player Diego Schwartzman, number 9 in the ATP classification, presented this Friday Stone Movistar, a new eSports team who “leads” and who in 2021 will compete in League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Free Fire, Valorant, Fortnite and FIFA 21.

The official launch of Stone Movistar was made through a live broadcast on the Twitch platform. This new esports team will have a “training and education academy” at the Hacoaj Nautical Club, located in the province of Buenos Aires. There they will “provide support in tactics and strategy, psychology, use of social networks and communication skills and teamwork.”

“Physical and sports development and healthy habits will also be promoted. It will have a gym to train, a dining room focused on nutrition and healthy eating, space for talks and workshops and a Gaming Center equipped with state-of-the-art technology, “added the press release.

Schwartzman, 28, a “team leader” said he is “very pleased to be spearheading such an important project.” “As a fanatic that I am, I am fulfilling a dream. I want to thank the group of professionals and companies that made all this possible”, said the tennis player. “It is a project that we have been thinking about for a long time, I played from a very young age and as I traveled I got a little more involved. Many times he was bored in the hotel room lying on the bed and well, what was he doing? Playing a little bit “Schwartzman said during the presentation.

Acknowledged that He “particularly” likes the FIFA soccer video game, but stressed that “there are many games going around” within eSports. Stone Movistar aims to “connect the world of traditional sports and the world of eSports” to “change the way players train, compete and bond”. “Among its most important pillars are promoting the development of women gamers and an educational program focused on the industry and professionalization of the world of eSports, “they reported in the statement.
