Schürrle and Lorenzo Melgarejo leave Spartak Moscow

Spartak Moscow toHe announced this Wednesday that he has decided not to renew the German André Schürrle, who arrived a year ago on loan from Borussia Dortmund, and the Paraguayan Lorenzo Melgarejo, who was a member of the Moscow team for four years.

Schürrle, world champion with Germany in 2014, landed in July 2019 at Spartak, where he performed at a high level in the first matches wearing the red shirt of the most popular team in Russia.

Instead, after the winter break he was injured in a friendly match against Rostov and, between the recovery and the coronavirus pandemic, he did not wear Spartak's jacket again.

The new coach of the Muscovites, the also German Domenico Tedesco, exonerated Schürrle, whom he considered a “great professional”.

Melgarejo, 29, arrived in Spartak from the Russian Kubán in 2016, but never settled on the starting lineup in the Moscow team, although he did play numerous games as a shock in the second half.

He started as a forward, but given his obvious definition problems before the opposite goal in recent times, he was lined up as a false left-back.

Spartak, who won his first league in 2017 after sixteen years of drought, is one of the great disappointments of the season, since He is seventh to eight points behind the European positions.

LThe Muscovites fell on Tuesday in the capital derby against CSKA (2-0) with what they said almost goodbye to their options to play next season in Europe.
