The national basketball coach, Sergio Scariolo, and the president of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), Jorge Garbajosa, announced this Wednesday the players from the initial list of summoned who will begin preparing, at the end of July, for the World Cup of 2023 that is disputed in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia.
The event will take place, starting at 12:00, in the Espacio Iberia in Madrid. ‘La Familia’ will begin the concentration on July 26 in Madrid, where they will play their first preparation match against Venezuela at the WiZink Center on August 4.
The next matches will be played at the Martín Carpena in Málaga against Slovenia, on August 11, and the United States, on August 13. The reigning European and world champion will end her preparation tour facing Canada on August 17 and the Dominican Republic on August 19 in Grenada.
Spain will begin the defense of its second world champion star in Jakarta (Indonesia) on August 25 after being drawn in Group G along with Iran, the Ivory Coast and Brazil. The team led by Sergio Scariolo will arrive at the World Cup as number 1 in the FIBA world ranking.
