Sanchez hopes to approve the Budgets “before the end of the summer”

The president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, said on Tuesday in an interview granted to TVE that he hopes to approve the General State Budget “before the end of this summer”, thus ending the budget extension of the National Accounts that he managed to approve the Executive of Mariano Rajoy a few days before the motion of censure.

The socialist leader has indicated that his Accounts will be based on five axes: consolidation of economic growth, ecological transition, social rights, territorial cohesion and demographic challenge and equality between men and women.

Sanchez has dodged to analyze the relationship between its elaboration and its processing of negotiations with Brussels to delay the reduction of the state deficit and has said that he will ask for the support of all parliamentary forces, in addition to his Government and investing partners, ERC.

Wage increases

In addition, Sanchez has confirmed that the Council of Ministers will approve on Tuesday the promised salary increase to officials, something already advanced by his chief of staff, Iván Redondo, in a letter to the CSIF last week. “Tomorrow in the Council of Ministers we will fulfill the agreement and we will raise the salary to public employees by 2%, which is something that has a broad consensus,” he said.

Regarding the announced increase in the minimum interprofessional salary, Sánchez has announced that he remains committed to reaching 60% of the average salary at the end of the legislature, as stated in the European Social Pact, but avoided pointing out the rise that could already occur same exercise He recalled that his previous Government raised it by 22% to reach 900 euros and left the decision of the path of increase in the hands of social agents based on the evolution of the economy.

Labour reform

On the other hand, the President of the Government has insisted that he will repeal the “most harmful” aspects of the labor reform that the PP undertook, and not the law as a whole, thus contradicting the statements of the Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, who He said after swearing the charge that it should be completely repealed. In this regard, he has alluded to the programmatic agreement signed by PSOE and Podemos to carry out the current Executive, where this partial repeal was already mentioned.

Among these most damaging aspects has been the abundance of subcontracting, that employers can unilaterally modify employment contracts with their employees or the recent ruling of the Supreme Court that approves the dismissal of the worker for being on sick leave due to illness. He noted that it will not introduce a “greater rigidity”, but “greater justice.”

It will summon Torra at the beginning of February

The President of the Government has asked the opposition not to block the activity of the Executive and has called for State pacts on sensitive issues, such as the renewal of the Supreme Court or the return to negotiation of the Toledo Pact.

In addition, he said he will convene the president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Quim Torra, to a meeting in the first week of February. He has asked the independentismo to make self-criticism for having “fractured the Catalan society” and has appealed to negotiate “within the framework of the Constitution”, an allusion that nevertheless does not appear included in the agreement between PSOE and ERC that served to invest president to Sanchez

In addition, the socialist leader has stressed that he will continue meeting with the rest of the regional presidents. In fact, it is willing to convene annually the Conference of Presidents to “celebrate the State of Autonomies,” something that has been considered a “success of the Constitution.”

Sanchez has also pointed out his opposition to the parental pin approved in Murcia, which he called “a problem invented by the extreme right”, has defended the appointment of his former minister Dolores Delgado as the new State Attorney General, and has emphasized a “tax justice “what” implies that those who have more should contribute more to the public coffers “, without expressly discarding the rise in taxes to the middle classes.
