Salah, criticized for seeking the Golden Boot: “It has a negative effect”

Liverpool are out at this point in May for any title this season. The Premier escaped a long time ago and now, they are in the fight to return to Europe, the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup as well and the Champions League came at the worst moment, losing to Real Madrid.

Few metal remains at stake for the Reds collectively, but individually. Mo Salah is in the fight for the Golden Boot and is insistently looking for it. Of course, this effort to add the award is causing criticism to the Egyptian striker, who is not going through his best moment at Liverpool.

For BBC columnist Garth Crooks, Salah is hardly focused on Liverpool's common goal, which is none other than to ensure his participation in Europe, and that he only wants his Golden Boot. “With four pending games and a Champions League place at stake, I cannot say that Liverpool has what it takes to cut those six points at this time of the season. Salah only seems interested in getting the Golden Boot and I think it is having a negative effect on several of his teammates, “he says from his rostrum.

At the moment, Harry Kane leads the standings with 21 goals. The Englishman surprises with one of the best seasons of his career since, in addition to the top scorer, he is also the top assistant in the competition with 13 goals distributed. Salah is one goal away from the Tottenham forward and the most dangerous contender to unseat him. Bruno Fernandes and Son are tied at 17 points and below Calvert-Lewin (16 goals), Bamford (15 goals) or Lacazette, Vardy and Ollie Watkins tied at thirteen goals.

If they win, it would be the third Premier League Golden Boot for either of them. In the classification of the Golden Boot to use, which rewards the top scorer in the European Leagues, nobody coughs up Lewandowski with 39 goals, which is equivalent to 78 points. Behind, Messi and Cristiano with 28 and 27 goals. Kane is ninth with 42 points and Salah goes up to 16th place in this ranking.
