Russian Andrei Rublev extended his winning streak by winning the eighth title of his career in Rotterdam, the first in 2021, after beat the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics 7-6 (4) and 6-4. The fifth consecutive final in an ATP 500 tournament expanded the Russian's record, who beat the Hungarian for the second time after four clashes.
The clash was balanced in the first heat resolved in the tiebreaker. Later, Rublev snatched the serve from Fucsovics in the opening of the second and maintained the imbalance until the end to close the win after one hour and 53 minutes.
Andrei Rublev, one of the tennis players in the best shape in the last year and a half, is eighth in the world, adds the Rotterdam trophy to those of Vienna, Saint Petersburg, Hamburg, Adelaide and Doha, which he won in 2020, in addition to the Moscow in 2019 and Umag in 2017.
