Rubiales carries out a budget of € 406M

The Assembly of the Spanish Football Federation has approved a budget of 406 million euros for 2022. The largest in the history of the RFEF and the second largest currently in Europe. In addition, Luis Rubiales announced the creation of an aid fund for clubs affected by natural disasters and the intention of creating an economic reserve for the next few years in case the world of football experiences a stoppage that affects its accounts as happened during the pandemic.

Luis Rubiales obtained with a unanimous endorsement the largest budget of the Federation in all its history. The president wanted to underline the change that has occurred since his arrival: it has gone from 146.5 in 2017 to 406 million euros by 2022. “You have to make the base of the pyramid grow. The numbers are undeniable,” said Rubiales regarding the aid he is giving to non-professional football. Among the main sources of income are audiovisual rights (123.6 million euros), sponsorship and marketing (91 million), arbitrations (43 million), participation and organization of competitions (36 million) and income from aid (25 million). Among the expenses are: expenses and aid in competitions (95 million), final of the Cup and the Super Cup (34 million), competitions and concentrations of the teams (68M). A solidarity endowment was also approved within the budgets to help national-class clubs that are affected by natural disasters. And Rubiales proposed the creation of an economic reserve for future eventualities: “You have to create a contingency fund, some reserves like those that FIFA or UEFA have. You have to create them for the total amount of a budget. It will take several years to get 400 million, four , five or twelve years. Now that the management that allows us to save, it is time. We are not going to dedicate all the money to football, but also to save. We must copy what is done well in other institutions “.

On the other hand, The reorganization of the ‘Cantera con Valores’ aids was approved with the support of 85 votes. The First RFEF clubs will keep the subsidies they received last season in Second B and the Second and Third RFEF clubs will also keep the aid received the previous season.

Tribute to the victims of COVID and Lorenzo Sanz

The RFEF wanted to commemorate and honor the memory of the victims of the soccer family who died due to the COVID-19 pandemic with a plaque that aims to honor and remind them and that will be permanently placed at the entrance of the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas. Lorenzo Sanz was awarded the gold and brilliant insignia of the Spanish Football Federation. Mariluz, his widow, and his sons Fernando and Lorenzo collected the medal awarded by Luis Rubiales. “Thank you for this distinction for my husband.
