Rubi puts pressure before the ‘final’ for promotion

The coach of Almería, Joan Francesc Ferrer ‘Rubi’, assured this Friday that his players have to “come out convinced of winning” on Sunday in the last day of LaLiga SmartBank in Leganés, which would give them direct promotion to the First Division, “but never think that it will be more or less easy, because you can never foresee this”.

The coach of the rojiblanco team indicated at a press conference that he has told his players that they have “80 points” in an “extraordinary season” and that if they don’t have more, everyone knows it was because they “threw the penalties”, because in January a match was not suspended and they were forced to “force the players”, which triggered various injuries, among other reasons.

“The players are convinced that we have learned and that we have to go out and win,” stressed Almería’s Barcelona coach, who stressed that this week they have focused a lot on the team “regaining the previous level” of the last Appointment against relegated Alcorcón, with whom they drew one at home.

“We weren’t good and it was more because we didn’t know how to handle the game in terms of nervousness, but the team knows what they’re playing, they know how to attack and how to defend,” he stressed, adding before Sunday’s vital appointment that gives him “absolutely It doesn’t matter if Leganés has ten casualties, if they have zero or if they have one”.

“They come out with eleven and it is normal that they want to win. They showed it last week in Ponferrada, with a very good spirit, and it does not mean any kind of advantage to me that they have casualties or not,” he stressed.

The Almería coach also made it clear that if the team “gives its level, it makes the rival very difficult and wins many games”, and encouraged his players not to think about what could happen, but to act and beat Leganés, even more after against Alcorcón they got into “a vortex of restlessness with which it is very difficult to play with your feet”.

“It’s very complicated. We didn’t know how to turn the situation around in terms of the fact that the rival was going to put so many difficulties on us and we forgot a bit about the idea of the game that we have, how to take a team from one side to the other, of how to enter from the outside combined from the inside or how to be vertical and, on a technical level, we had a very bad day”, admitted Rubi.

For this reason, he stressed that against Leganés they will have to “manage situations regardless of how the rival wants to play”, because “you have to do your job and be a little more successful with the ball because, if not, it is very difficult”.
