Rubén Torrecilla returns the illusion to Granada

Granada achieved a lot in Mendizorrozto. He took a win at the home of Alavés, a direct rival in the fight to avoid relegation and which he leads by six points, ended a terrible streak of eleven games without winning and is still out of the last three places where he would have fallen if he would not have added three after Cádiz’s victory against Villarreal.

With the arrival of Rubén Torrecilla, the team has recovered some of its hallmarks that seemed dormant during Robert Moreno’s stage. The good moments of football against Elche did not translate into a better result, largely because Edgar Badía stopped everything. In addition, the team did not break down in Vitoria despite having the score against them for several minutes and knew how to come back. Torrecilla was right with the changes. Puertas and Luis Suárez were the material architects of the comeback.

Of advanced ideas and with a defined style, Torrecilla has as his second in command Diego Mainz, a legend of Los Cármenes with two consecutive promotions from Second B to First. The Torrecilla-Mainz tandem will be directing the team during these two weeks of league break and in the next final against Rayo Vallecano.

After the dismissal of Robert Moreno, Granada decided to bet on Torrecilla as interim coach (that is, provisional) while studying the possibility of handling other alternatives. He put two possibilities on his scale. Or a house technician with hunger, knowledge and a sensational future; or a coach with more experience on the bench. In this sense, the names that have come to light have been, among others, Abelardo and Albert Celades. Torrecilla will continue as an interim until the match against the Vallecanos. The club studies that he stay until the end of the season

Friendly against Jaén

Next Friday 25 Granada will play a friendly in Jaén as a reason for the centenary of the ‘lizard’ team that is going through one of the most delicate moments in its history. It will be at the La Victoria stadium at 7:30 p.m.

The expulsion of Aaron Escandell

Aarón Escandell, Granada’s reserve goalkeeper, was expelled by the referee after an incident he had with Gonzalo Escalante. It was at 90′ and Escudero Víctor Díaz and Germán also came out of the tangana. The minutes justify the expulsion of the goalkeeper from Granada as follows: “Getting up from his bench to push an opponent without the ball being in play, generating a confrontation between players from both teams.” You can drop two or three games.
