Rory Mcilroy conquers his second The Players

London, 18 Mar. (DPA/EP) –

Norirlandic golfer Rory Mcilroy has been imposed on Monday to the American JJ Spaun in the tiebreaker of The Players Championship, considered by many the ‘Fifth Grande’ and which has been played in the TPC Sawgrass of Ponte Vedra Beach (United States), and a second time the trophy.

Mcilroy covered three holes in a par, and was enough to beat Spaun in a somewhat anti -limitic end. A ‘Birdie’ of two ‘putts’ in the five five of the 16 hole gave to the Norwegian an advantage of a blow after the North American could only make the torque after finding high grass from the ‘tee’ and a bunker with his ‘Approach’.

Mcilroy found the ‘Green’ in the treacherous 17 before Spaun, who seemed insecure in the choice of his stick in lip conditions, sent his exit blow over the ‘Green’ to the water. The triple ‘Bogey’ resulting ended the American’s options to achieve his second victory in the PGA Tour, although Mcilroy surprisingly packed three ‘putts’ from nine meters.

Mcilroy also made ‘Bogey’ in 18, but Spaun still had three meters left to make his own ‘bogey’ and did not complete the hole after Mcilroy drives. After his victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February, Mcilroy has won twice on the PGA Tour before the masters for the first time in his career. The world number two needs a victory in the first great championship of the year in Augusta National to complete the ‘Grand Slam’ of his career.

Mcilroy began the final round of Sunday four blows from the leader of the night, Spaun, but after a ‘Birdie’ in the first hole he achieved an ‘Eagle’ from three meters in the second hole of torque five, after a magnificent ‘Approach’ with a long iron from 230 meters.

He also responded to a ‘Bogey’ in the seventh with a ‘Birdie’ in the eighth and another ‘Birdie’ in the five five brought him to 12 under par, a blow ahead of Span, before the competition was postponed due to a storm.

After a four -hour delay, Mcilroy established a three -stroke advantage after making ‘Birdie’ in 12, since Spaun let out a blow to 11, but the Norway made ‘bogey’ in 14 before Spaun did ‘Birdie’ in the same hole.

Spaun also made ‘Birdie’ in the 16th to match the contest again and was about to win the title in the regulatory phase, since his attempt of ‘Birdie’ from 10 meters in 18 stayed at five centimeters.
