At the moment, while waiting to find a permanent technician, the interim position is held by Duncan Ferguson, Benítez’s assistant.

“I’m flattered that this is being rumoured, but Everton know that if you want to have any talks with me you have to talk to the club first. They haven’t been in touch and I don’t want anything to distract me from the work I’m doing here,” he said. Rooney.

Rumors of a departure from the man who was an Everton player at the beginning of his career, before signing for Manchester United, have increased due to the poor financial situation of Derby County, which is in bankruptcy proceedings and there is no certainty that can survive in the future. In addition, he is penultimate in the English Second Division after being penalized with 21 points.

“People love fairy tales, but my focus is on tomorrow’s game. It’s a very important game and I have to make sure we treat it with the respect it deserves,” Rooney said.
