FC Barcelona center-back Ronald Araujo will undergo surgery this Wednesday for his injury to the adductor longus tendon in his right thigh and will be out for several months, the Barça club reported on Monday, for which he could miss the World Cup in Qatar.

The Uruguayan central defender, who has participated in seven games with Barça at the start of the season, was injured during the international break in the friendly match that his team played against Iran, a duel that he had to abandon in the fifth minute of the game.
The Barça club has not offered an estimated recovery period and has limited itself to announcing that it would provide a new medical report after the operation, although Araujo is expected to be out for about three months, for which he would miss the World Cup in Qatar, which It will be held from November 20 to December 18.
