MADRID, 18 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Coach Daniele De Rossi will continue to lead the AS Roma bench after the end of the season, leaving his interim role, due to his “positive impact” on the Roman team and to “build a long-term project”, according to a release.
“After meeting yesterday afternoon with Daniele De Rossi, we are delighted to announce that he will continue as coach of AS Roma after this season and for the foreseeable future,” the entity announced on its website, where it highlighted that in its short period its impact has been “positive”.
De Rossi signed for Roma on January 16, 2024, replacing José Mourinho and straightening the course of the team in the Italian capital. In fact, since his arrival, the Roman team has only had two defeats in 16 games, and is already fifth, four points away from the Champions League places.
And the club’s board believes that it has been key for this that De Rossi “leads the locker room with respect and courage”, in addition to highlighting “his strength and deep-rooted belief in the club”, something that is “truly aligned with the club’s values of Rome”.
“We will continue to work together as much as we can to offer Roma fans the future they deserve. We couldn’t be happier to build a long-term project with Daniele,” the club’s statement concluded.
